Dead Bodies on Everest

Engineers have been responsible for a lot of the gear that has enabled so many people to scale Everest (or attempt it at the very least).  Inevitably though,  some will not survive these harsh conditions.  Unfortunately,  retrieving bodies from this place is not very easy to do so the majority end up staying there.  As time goes on we are creating better technology but Everest will continue to consume lives.

Climbing Everest is always something I've wanted to do. Maybe I should do some more research into it.

Sounds like you haven't done much in the way of mountain climbing. I'd suggest you do some easier climbs before considering something like this.

Despite this there does seem to be an increasing number of people attempting the summit. It hardly holds sense of achievement that it once used to. Improvements in technology no doubt has a lot to do with this.

You're right though, technology is always improving. I love going browsing through camping stores and checking out all their latest gadgets.

You're completely missing the point of hiking and camping guys. Getting back to nature should be about enjoying simplicity. You don't need all the latest gadgets, you need to learn to enjoy simplicity.

This is actually sorta cool in a way. In a couple of centuries when global warming has had it's way with us, and natural erosion has reduced the mountain to a mere hill, these specimens will thaw out (having been perfectly preserved due to the conditions) and future generations will get to see exactly how we used to do it back in the good old days.

i must say, i don't really see the appeal of climbing everest. Going to the moon, i can understand. Thats something i would rather risk my life doing. And from the statistics i'd say i have a better chance of surviving.
