Clipped to the Drawing Board by Adam Crighton

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.USA (AP) — A congressman is trying again to engineer support for legislation to ban an Alabama-made poison that critics claim is both a deadly threat to wildlife and a potential weapon for terrorists.

However it is available and used in other countries,  for example compound 1080 or sodium monofluoroacetate , is a naturally occurring compound produced by many species of Australian plant. Sodium monofluoroacetate occurs naturally in about 40 native plant species in Australia, primarily of the genera, Gastralobium, which grow in Western Australia, across northern Australia in the Northern Territory and in central Queensland.

Clipped to the Drawing Board by Ryan
Engineers are always pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

Reaching taller than the Eiffel tower this is truly a marvel to be observed. A lot of information about it's construction and maintenance is available which is a rather interesting read. Indeed the structural statistics are just as fascinating,  as is the shadow that this monolithic structure casts.

100 bhp Buell Lightning Super TT XB12STT debuts at EICMA

Clipped to the Drawing Board by John William

The Harley Davidson brand name is associated with attitude – serious attitude. It cultivates a brand loyalty second to NONE – how many other consumer groups tattoo their chests, biceps and girlfriends with a company logo? The HD brand is associated with a cruising style of motorcycle though, so Erik Buell’s decision to take Harley motors and do wickedly clever engineering and decidedly different things with them was a perfect opportunity for a brand extension.

What is the best tool that an engineer can posess?

Clipped to the Drawing Board by Ryan

This represents a difficult question to answer. After much pondering and deliberation (and just a sprinkling of wasting time on the net), I have come to the conclusion that no single best tool that an engineer can posess exists. It turns out that a combination of 2 tools that work together makes the best solution. One becomes the ying to the others yang. The combination comprises the hammer and duct tape. Indeed one posesses the ability to destroy virtually anything while the other has the virtue of fixing virtually anything and make almost anything.
